Tuckahoe Area Library
1901 Starling Drive
The evening before was a dark and stormy night, but on the afternoon of Sunday, October 8th, 2006, the sun broke out from the clouds as the crowd gathered for the opening ceremonies of the Tuckahoe Area Library at 1901 Starling Drive -- near the Regency Branch Post Office, one block south of the intersection of Parham and Three Chopt roads. Now, after more than five years, the library is still a much-used and much-loved location in Henrico's West End.
Residents asked for and received what they wanted: airy reading areas, quiet study areas, a large multi-purpose room, a large children's program room, a drive-through pick-up and return, computer labs and much more parking. The library is more than 53,000 square feet of access to more than 175,000 items that everyone asked for.
